Step 1: Navigate to GitHub 🌐

First, navigate to GitHub and sign in to your account.

Step 2: Access Settings ⚙️

Once you're logged in, click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the page. From the dropdown menu, select Settings.

Step 3: Developer Settings 👨‍💻

In the left sidebar of the Settings page, scroll down to find Developer settings. Click on it.

Step 4: OAuth Apps 🔄

Within the Developer Settings page, select OAuth Apps. This will take you to a page where you can see all your registered OAuth applications.

Step 5: Register a New Application 📝

Click on the New OAuth App button. This will take you to a form where you can register your new application.

Step 6: Fill Out the Form 🖊️

Fill out the form with the following details:

  • Application name: Enter a name for your application.
  • Homepage URL: Enter the URL of your application's homepage.
  • Application description: Provide a brief description of your application (optional).
  • Authorization callback URL: Enter the callback URL for your application. This is where GitHub will redirect users after they authorize their accounts with your app.

Once you've filled out all the necessary details, click on the Register application button at the bottom of the page.

Step 7: Save Your Client ID and Client Secret 🔑

After registering your application, you'll be redirected to a new page where you can see your new application's details. Here, you'll find your Client ID and Client Secret. Make sure to save these details securely as they will be needed for authentication purposes.
